What was Marco Polo's Legacy?

There was no record of what Marco Polo looked like or whether he was kind or bad tempered or even if he was married in China. The one thing that was left behind was his legacy. Marco Polo was not the first person to do the journey that he did but he was the first to record in much detail about the towns and cities in Persia, past the Pamir Mountains, across the Gobi Desert, along rivers and ravines to China.
